Prints on Fine Art Paper
Hahnemuhle and Innova
Cotton Rag papers add a certain class to a finished print particularly for items which will be framed or reproductions of fine art but they are also recognised by museums and archivists as being the material of choice in terms of print life. Cotton Rag papers are acid free and we always use the recommended Epson Ultrachrome K3 inks so that the prints can be described as 'Giclee'.
Take care with colour profiles to ensure colour matching and you may find it helpful to request one of our Calibration Cds, which provide a simple method of checking how your colour monitor matches ours.
We charge for the inked area of the prints and expect to include around 2 inches of white paper around the image, which helps with framing to allow room for float and any signature or titles that may need to be added.
Fine Art Paper available
- Hahnemuhle William Turner 310gsm: slightly textured - excellent dynamic range
- Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 310gsm: flat matt - works well for repro of illustrations or etching
- Innova DeVinci 300gsm: a soft gloss similar to photographic fibre base gloss
- Hahnemuhle Torchon 285gsm: a hammered matt finish
A word about file size
It is important that your file size is large enough to ensure good quality but not so big that it takes ages to upload to the lab. Adjust the file to the desired dimensions in inches with a resolution of 200dpi and save as a 'best quality' JPEG. Stick to this rule to save your self time and frustration but if you require more information see our reference pages.
